Instructions to Authors

Oral Presentations

Each oral presentation is limited to 15 minutes with 5 additional minutes for questions and discussion. Please make sure that your presentation will fit within the time allotted.

All presenters are requested to report to the moderator of their session well in advance of the session. Presenters should provide the moderator with electronic copies of their PowerPoint presentation on CD ROM, DVD, or USB flash drive. A laptop, projector, and laser pointer will be provided. To limit file sizes and improve computer performance during your presentation, we recommend compressing all images in your presentation for "web/screen" resolution. Refer to Powerpoint instructions for details on compressing images.

If you have additional A/V needs, please notify LeRoy Rodgers at Lrodgers@sfwmd.gov.

Poster Presentations

Poster Set Up: The poster session is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, May 27th between 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Please check in at the event registration desk for directions to the poster session set up area. Authors may set up their poster at any time on Monday or Tuesday, but all posters should be on display by no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday.

IMPORTANT: Posters cannot be affixed directly on the wall at this year's meeting facility. FLEPPC will provide easels and, if needed, foam board backing for your display. Foam board dimensions will be 36" x 48".

Poster Attendance: Authors are expected to be in attendance during the poster session. If possible, please display your poster for the duration of the symposium.

Poster Specifications: The preferred poster size is 32" x 44" in a landscape or portrait orientation. Posters should be printed on a single sheet with heavy stock paper, preferably laminated. As stated above, posters will be displayed on easels. If possible, please bring the poster mounted on foam board. Text and graphic elements should be legible at a distance of 2 meters. While not required, the author may wish to leave summary sheets of their poster on 8.5" x 11" paper for interested individuals to take with them. Pocket folders for poster handouts will be available at the symposium if needed.

To maximize layout space, authors may choose not to include the abstract on their poster. If abstracts are not included, the above-mentioned poster handouts should be provided at the poster location.
